For the past week or so I've been watching a video tutorial series on how to unwrap, export and then texture in Photoshop for Maya. I hope to get a few things done with those techniques before I move back to college on the 30th.
I've been working on another Command and Conquer 3 map pack for a couple of months. Maps that I love playing, maps that I enjoyed making and tweaking, these are the maps I make and play and release. I've been playing this game since the day it came out and it's still fun for me and I like to share my passions
so here's another map pack.
EDIT: I made a small AR model and created my first lighted and properly rendered scene.

I failed and finished two SMGs I've been putting off for a while. I find it interesting that I dislike the models yet always manage to find some redeeming quality that I like in a model. Sometimes I just like stuff I've put a ton of time into without the piece being what I originally-invisioned. 9 out of 10 times I don't follow my original vision anyway, that's too boring for me so I just make it up as I go along, trying to feel out the model and looking at gun references if I get stuck to get more inspiration. Usually if I need inspiration however during the build, the model will fail. My most successful models looking back were things I wanted to model for a couple of days and then working off of all that built-up energy, knocking out the concept and model in one go in the form of either one sit down or a couple of sit downs in a row ie spending a whole day on a particular model. A lot of those times I make the original model that inspired me to make something and then I start up one or two others based off of the first one. That's how the Borderlands-inspired models thing started.

Changes made:
higher poly scope front and ends
less edges on the main body -- textured details I assume would be there
removed operation buttons on the trigger guard -- those could also be textured
made the barrel and flash hider larger
more detailed grenade launcher barrel

I finished the OICW rifle for the
Lethal Stigma crew and I wish them well on their modding activities. I don't want to make any more weapons for them right now with college looming on the 30th but if they need a revised model I can make it for them.
My uv work is going very slowly but I'm learning a lot. I don't think I'll be able to make something by the 30th but we'll see.
I am restarting the TF2-styled sentry guns in the mean while to take a break from all the uv homework. Just to refresh my mind and have a little fun.
Oh and I added a little graphic for the news section. Just something to draw more attention there.

I started a little skull design for a fictious T-shirt. More stuff to keep my mind occupied. I am making it up as I go along.
